Good DVD Player – Until Audio Failed – Michael K. Terry –
Owned by the HD-A35 for just over two years – suddenly stopped working the audio section.
I believe that two years is too short life for a player who cost so much initially.
To his credit – it was an excellent upconverter for standard DVDs during its short life.
A dead format – C. Her – Maplewood, MN USA
I bought this head when the HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs are still going to the head. I felt as Blu-ray would win, but the price on the HD-DVD is half that of Blu-ray at the time.
For the moment I had the HD-DVD, has served its purpose. He played in HD. Once Blu-ray has become the clear winner, I exchanged this player from Best Buy and got a bit 'more than $ 100 trade in dollars and bought a new Sony Blu-ray. I am happy with my Blu-ray.
Excellent HD-DVD player and DVD upconverter – E. Kurt Cullamar – middle earth
Of course, everyone knows that the format war is over. I bought two Toshiba HD DVD players knowing that he who bought them for negotiations. Since the universality of the Blu-Ray is still not 100%, and there are still tons of standard DVDs there, sometimes I find myself only able to rent titles from my local movie store that are not Blu-Ray.
I finished playing DVDs on my system, but it looks very good, because they are upconverted to 1080p. On a screen size (42 "LCD), image quality is not very far from quality Blu-ray. Therefore, for its particular use, HD-DVD is five stars for its usefulness.
