Crapped Out After 13 Months – sbw – California
Buy this DVD from Amazon for $ 61 in February 2008. It 'just crapped out less than 13 months after purchase. Screen went blank while playing a DVD, now will not turn on. You do not even know how to get the DVD Netflix outta there!
The SD-5000 has replaced my Toshiba SD-4990 DVD player that crapped after 8 months.
I bought a DVD player from Toshiba to ensure increased levy compatible with my Toshiba HDTV, but if not every month after, I should go with adifferent brand!
toshiba sd-5000 player not any good – Mark Fredrickson – columbia SC
I had many problems with this unit. he will not play half the discs I watch store, even bought the DVD player I would not recommend this to anyone because it's nothing but problems. I have the Toshiba SD-6100, but did a good job, but more improved compared to the SD-5000 Player
Toshiba = Junk – trippenhammer – Miami, FL
I bought this player's expensive, and stopped working after a year. Meanwhile, refused to play a large number of disks. Fortunately, I had an Xbox can play DVDs fine.
In addition, the Toshiba customer service is abysmal. When you have a problem outside the warranty, you may want to sell the same product new or newer model, priced at almost retail. Toshiba avoid like the plague.
Very poor DVD player – Nathan Beauchamp – Oak Park, IL USA
I bought this DVD player to pair with my Toshiba 42RV530U (I like). This is a stylish sexy looking DVD player. Concluding something positive in this review. The player stops frequently during the game, creates a distortion or image stuttering, and sometimes freezes and does not respond at all! The only option is to restart the unit, which is very frustrating when, in the middle of a movie. It caused me great embarrassment when watching movies with friends. I wondered ifproblem was with me, with the elderly, can be scratched discs. That ended when I put a new copy of Kill Bill and the same problems. I wondered if it was a matter of heat, and put the player himself with longer cables to give him much breathing space. The player is overwritten during playback. Frankly, this is the worst consumer electronics I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. If it was not too late, I do.
Stay away from this DVDPlayer!
