Kick-a** product, underwhelming customer service – Impatient by nature – Pacific Northwet, USA
Product absolutely five stars in every sense, supported by a star customer service (5 +1 = 6 divided by 2 = 3, where the 3-star rating overall).
First the good news: my entry into the world of hi-def BigScreen was a JVC 61 "LCOS 720p resolution, there are about four years. I liked the color saturation and balance better than DLP LCOS first, but course, DLP won this battle.
The overall improvement to move to 82-inch 1080p DLP Mitsubishi is so great as when I moved toJVC (which still seems pretty darn good) 60 "standard def 4:3 Mitsubishi replaced. It 'really not much difference. If a 1080i (HDTV broadcast) or 1080p (Blu Ray) signal, the image is real life accurate , and huge!
Most people do not realize the 82 "Mits model replaces the market debut of $ 25,000 (I am one of the first users, but not too much, one of the first users) so that the being-the – first – on-your-price block of this new model is soldrelatively reasonable in comparison. I paid $ 3600 with taxes, has fallen on my sidewalk, about $ 1000 less than the joint venture of four years ago. If you are patient, will probably be in the range of $ 3,000 for Christmas and $ 2,000 – $ 2,500 when competition heats up. For now, the Mits has screen 7 'HD projection market to itself.
I found the DVD upconversion approach satisfactory, while the format battle was still running, but now it's over, I decided to switch to Blu-ray at the sametime. BluRay "Blackhawk Down" on the Mitsubishi with the ability to upgrade the processor on the surround sound? Two words: intense! and WOW !!!!!!
My son and I saw "The Bank Job" on HBO HD the other night and I was completely burned again. About two thirds of the way through, I realized that my heart beat, even though I have seen this film several times and I know what happens next. My viewing distance is between 9 and 10 feet, and this puppy runs almost100 degrees of my vision.
Summary: The television itself absolutely rocks, it is absolutely worth every penny, and not only the largest but the best image projection internal HD I have ever seen (and I look around d 'a lot). I do not know how they do it and I do not care. Five stars for geeks Mitsubishi, which has found a way to create a real quality of life on 7 '.
PS – I have done research before buying, and some commentators have complained about the control of differentProtocol and menus Mitsubishi has introduced this product line. Are obviously different, and I agree that Mits seems to have solved a problem does exist but is still very intuitive and easy to understand, and a total no-brainer, once you get used to. I fully agree with the comments on the remote control of crap they ship with this model. What's up with that? I buy a TV and $[...] Mitsubishi includes a remote control that looks like I could buy for $ 4.95 off the rack pulsethe bottom line of food, which does not even have the keys backlit? The ring around the shift key "Enter" key is not contiguous or round, is a stretch of four rounded squares. My fingers were the size of the Hygrade Ballpark Franks, but also some normal-sized fingers would have a lot of time not to push two buttons at once on this tiny controller. Hello?
[...]
The truck driver who delivered the TV to watch, when I and my son-DE-EN boxed. There was no shipmentUnfortunately, everything went well.
However, Mits vinyl chloride clear protective tape wrapped around the frame and the edge of the screen for navigation has left a residue on the screen when I removed and, to a lesser extent, took black paint flakes off the frame. The manual says not to use anything other than non-abrasive soap and warm water, which removed most but not all residues of the PVC strip behind.
There was a small detail in the first place I calledWhat proved to be associated control protocol (and I have not read the owner's manual before departure).
[...]
Final note: If you are OCD about these things as they are, if your HDMI-equipped surround processor can be used as a video switcher (like most stories), you should check her video and HDMI protocol to make sure who are aware of the latest technologies. I had a great system that Yamaha has been three years and was not, then I "owed" toimprove the sound system at a time.
